Sorry it's been so long since the last post but you know how time flies when you're having fun.Over the Memorial Day weekend we didn't go anywhere so Pam and I did some work around the house.I did some plumbing out in the garage that I wanted to get done so we could have water closer to the garden behind the garage.Back when Chris and LeAnn were still living here we put an electric furnace up in the attic because the old oil furnace under the house finally gave up the ghost.I had never got under the house to plug the old heater vents so that was my next project.It took longer than I would have liked but it got done.(I don't like crawling around under the house) Our next project was to take out the old chimney.Last summer we had taken it down below the roof line so that part was complete but from there down was another thing.I got up in the attic (it must have been 200 degrees up there) and started removing the bricks down to the ceiling line in the kitchen.Once I got that far I could remove the bricks from there.We had to remove them one brick at a time all the way to below floor level under the house.As I removed the bricks I would hand them to Pam and she would take them outside.What a dusty mess but we [gotter done].By the time that was done we were worn out so quit for the day.On Monday I plugged the hole in the ceiling ,wall,and floor.It sure is nice to have that chimney gone.We are eventually going to redo the whole kitchen but this was the first step.The weather has been beautiful this last week so that really helps when you have projects to do.There is a lot more that we want to do but we will take it one step at a time. Maybe by the time I retire we will have it all done.(does it ever all get done?) Untill next time......
